Sportradar’s NFL data collaboration was prized, and the shares of new buyer’s affiliated companies surged 23%
NFL announced that it has entered into a sports gaming data partnership with genius sports group, a British sports data company, which has the exclusive right to Sell NFL game data to sports gaming companies. Sportradar, NFL’s current partner and NFL’s investment partner, also participated in the months long bidding, but NFL sports jerseys finally chose to cooperate with genius sports.
Regarding the cooperation, sportico quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that the cooperation will last for at least four years and that genius sports group will use no more than 5% of the company’s equity to pay for the cooperation. After this cooperation, NFL will also own shares of two cheap sports jerseys data companies.
According to the cooperation agreement, genius sports will retain the exclusive right to send NFL official data to legal sports gambling companies in the United States and overseas. In addition, genius sports will package NFL event data for sports media companies, distribute them on live international games, monitor the betting mode of gambling, etc. The two sides will also jointly build a “joint management technology center” and devote themselves to NFL’s innovation in the gambling field.
Founded in 2016, genius sports group is a sports jerseys data and technology company, mainly providing data management and integrity services for sports leagues and organizations. Genius has more than 500 partners in more than 150 countries and regions, including NBA, Premier League, FIBA and PGA Tour.
On November 3, 2020, genius sports group and spac company DMY Technology Group Inc II reached a merger agreement, estimated to be about US $1.5 billion. After the announcement of the cooperation with NFL, shares of DMY Technology Group II, which led genius sports group to list, rose 23% in after hours trading.
